That new patients are required to have a 15 minute nurse consult before seeing the GP for their first appointment.
There may be extra fee charges for additional services.
We reserve the right to charge a fee if the patient fails to attend their booked appointment and does not contact us to cancel it. This fee applies to all age groups.

Flu Vaccine 2026

We are pleased to advise our patients that flu vaccinations will be available at our clinic from 1 April 2026. We are running dedicated Flu clinics on:

Wednesday 1st April, all day
Wednesday 8th April, all day
Thursday 9th April, all day
Wednesday 15th April, am
Thursday 16th April, am

These can be booked on online through our portal "my indici" or by phoning reception on 03 366 3391.

Flu Vaccine Funding
The flu vaccine is free for:

Adults aged 65 years and over;
Pregnant people;
Those with certain long-term health conditions:
- Heart conditions
- Diabetes
- Kidney, Autoimmune and Chronic Respiratory diseases
- Cancer
- Chronic Mental Health disorders
Children aged 6 to 12 years with the above medical conditions

For patients who do not meet the funded criteria, the cost of the flu vaccine is $30.

COVID-19 vaccinations will be available. These COVID vaccines are free and available for people aged 12 years and over. The COVID-19 vaccine can also be given at the same appointment as your flu vaccine if you wish.

12 Month Prescriptions

While government guidance advises that GPs may prescribe medications for up to 12 months, this is only appropriate for a limited number of medications and only if all of the patient's medications are eligible for 12-month prescribing.

Pharmacies will only be allowed to dispense a maximum of 3-months of medications. The Medical Council of New Zealand (Te Kaunihera Rata o Aotearoa) recommends patient safety and safe prescribing, so these are our priorities while we update our safe prescribing policy to reflect the Government initiative. In practice, 12-month prescribing is not suitable for most patients.

After 1st February 2026, any initial request for a 12-month prescription will need to be in person during a dedicated GP consultation and will be carefully assessed by the clinician. All prescriptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis, taking into account clinical and patient safety, current guidelines and policy, monitoring and individual patient needs.
